Dashboard Filters

Filters are used to create custom views of your data. Your marketing, search and content campaigns can be viewed in more detail by using the dashboard filters to adjust charts and tables. These filters are also used throughout the custom reporting modules to ensure you can build the reports that are most useful for you. Filters available in GinzaMetrics include:

Date Selection  |  Search Engines & Devices  |  Conversion  |  Keyword Group  |  Content Group / Campaign  |  Keyword Ranking  |  Device Type  |  Annotations

Date Range: Pre-sort

Use the date range selection option to filter your dashboard by a specific timeframe. This is a great way to view progress at regular intervals or generate exports for reporting needs.

Pre-selected date range options include:

  • Last 7 days (starting with today’s date)
  • Last 30 days (starting with today’s date)
  • Last month (previous calendar month in entirety)
  • Previous month (month immediately before last)
  • This quarter (based on calendar year quarters)
  • Last quarter
  • This year (all data from current year)
  • Last year (all data from last year – we suggesting using granularity options mentioned below to adjust this view)

Date Range: Self Select

The date range self select option is great for measuring campaign ranges, product launches, or other time periods of your choosing.

Note that if your data appears incorrect, checking your date range selections can ensure that you’re viewing the time period you’re looking for accurately.

Selecting time periods prior to your use of the GinzaMetrics platform will return empty data sets.

Date Granularity

Date granularity allows you to toggle between daily, weekly, and monthly rollups. This is the perfect option for quarterly and yearly reporting or comparison reports over long time periods.

When selecting ranges of three months or more, we suggest using the granularity option to make charts more easily viewed.

Search Engine & Device

GinzaMetrics allows you to filter your data by search engine or device selections. When setting up your site, you will be prompted to choose a location and then available search engines and devices for that location.

Available search engines include:

  • Google
  • Yahoo!
  • Bing
  • Baidu
  • Sogou
  • Qihoo360
  • Yandex
  • Daum
  • Naver

Device options include:

  • iPhone
  • iPad
  • Android phone
  • Android tablet

GinzaMetrics allows you to “mix and match” country and search engine selections, which is especially helpful for international brands looking at performance comparisons. For example, you may choose Google US, Sogou in China, and Yandex in Russia as your three search engines for your dashboard.

Keyword / Topic Group

Creating keyword groups can help you segment and analyze your marketing efforts. Once you have created keyword groups, you can filter data in your dashboard and reporting by these specific groups for more detailed views.

Keyword groups can be created to reflect things such as:

  • Brand or product groups
  • Features
  • Campaigns
  • Customer personas
  • Geographies

Filtering your dashboard by keyword / topic groups will let you segment marketing channel performance, keyword ranking, conversion, revenue, competitor data, and recommendations. This is especially helpful to understand the performance of your content and SEO efforts, as well as how you are performing against competitors in specific areas.

Content Group

Similar to keyword groups, content groups help you view your marketing efforts in ways that make sense to your brand. Content groups are groups of pages that can reflect a variety of things including:

  • Brand or product groups
  • Features
  • Campaigns
  • Customer personas
  • Geographies

Content can belong to more than one group, which allows flexibility to segment content in multiple ways at once.

Using the content group filter you can see how specific sets of content are contributing to conversions and revenue, as well as how they perform on search engines, social media, and other marketing channels.

Content groups are simple to set up in GinzaMetrics. You can use our matching title and URL feature, one of our template options, or select content manually. You can see more about content groups here.

Conversion can be set up in your analytics provider to be used to segment your marketing in the GinzaMetrics dashboard and reporting system.

Keyword / Topic Rank

Take a look at charts and tables segmented by your keyword / topic rank on search engines / devices. This will help you easily see where your marketing efforts are performing well for topics, and where areas could be improved. Combined with content groups – this can help campaign reporting be more insightful.

You can segment this data by the following ranking groups:

  • Position 1
  • Position 2-3
  • Position 4-10
  • Position 11-30
  • Position 31-50
  • Position 51+
